Well, I resolved. I never really deviate from the UPD because it simply functions and also doesn"t fill the "bloat." I went to HP"s website and also tright here was an actual driver (and also not just the UPD) for this printer. Installed it with minimum bloat and it is functioning now. Don"t you hate these kinds of problems? :(

Good pointer. I remember I had actually to rush this COMPUTER out to the shop. I do remember not doing ALL upday and also hoped automatic updates would certainly catch the remainder. I 100% (except this time) install ALL updates prior to releasing a PC to a user. I will certainly check it and report earlier.

Use 7-zip to extract the driver from the UPD exe. Then, in an elevated cmd, run this:

rundll32 printui.dll,PrintUIEntry /s /t2

You"ll watch an add switch. Use that. Navigate to the extracted exe folder and use the .inf (really any will do). Then, as soon as you"ve done that, close that window as the driver is now set up. Install the printer typically and also permit the WSD. Then, go in and also adjust the driver under the properties percent of the printer and the advanced tab. In the dropdown alongside New Driver you"ll check out your driver already there. Select it and also hit Apply. Now, go to Ports and add a TCP/IP port and also use the IP of your printer. Check that and hit apply. Hit okay. If you really want, you can go back and also delete the auto-created WSD port. I would certainly recommend it. That should do the trick.

Not sure if that was it however installing it. Edited Feb 10, 2014 at 19:41 UTC

I had actually this concern as soon as and found that in the install procedure readjust the device kind from AutoDetect to TCP/IP then enter the hostname or IP resolve. The device will not look for the WSD tool.
