Why does minecraft use so much cpu

So I"ve noticed while playing Minecraft (Java) under fill (definition I"m not getting the max framerate) my GPU (RX 5700 XT) is utilizating around 60-77% while my CPU (R5 3600) is at about 20%.

You watching: Why does minecraft use so much cpu

I"ve heard that Minecraft is CPU heavy, which got me wondering why it"s just at 20%, while my GPU isn"t even on complete pack. Can someone provide me some clarity on this? Is tright here a method to make the game make push the CPU/GPU a little bit even more for better performance?

EDIT: So it seems the game isn"t very well optimized and doesn"t use a whole lot of CPU cores and leaving little bit to the GPU unless you run shaders or something.

Due to the fact that after a specific suggest minecraft becomes very poorly optimized. Anything beyond what your spec is is basically meaningless for stock procedure (no shaders)

Forobtained to mention that I am making use of shaders, which I assumed would certainly press my GPU to 100%, yet it"s not.

CPUs have actually multiple cores, MC supplies mainly one so even though it states 20% CPU consumption that"s bereason most of the various other cores are idle.

Do you usage shaders or equivalent stuff? They deserve to be resource hungry af.

Possible methods to acquire higher FPS:

- OptiFine

- even more RAM (could assist, yet not for sure)

- revolve off shader (if you have actually those)

bereason it only tons up a couple of CPU threads in singleplayer (probably even more for servers). If you check per CPU threview consumption, you"ll see a lot higher numbers

the graphics API (OpenGL) is additionally no excellent at loading up GPUs fully
