Okay, the solution is that I did not disable Time Machine and also remove all backup drives initially. Doing that addressed the issue. So the complete solution is:

Disable "Back-up Up Automatically" in Time Machine System Preferrals, and also remove all backup drives, such that it looks favor this:

Then run suexecute tmutil thinlocalsnapshots / 999999999999

And try again. Optionally rebegin the computer and attempt again.

In Mojave, what I had actually to do was turn off Time Machine and also then run this command also to pressure clean out the local snapshots:

tmutil thinlocalsnapshots / 1000000000 1where 1000000000 is the size of your drive and also the "1" implies immediate. This hregarding be done a few times because it just cleans up a few local snapshots each time.

After that, you should be able to check out adequate area available via this command:

diskutil apfs resizecontainer disk0s2 limits

Open task monitor and force quit backupd, then click proceed in the bootcamp assistant.
