First, pick Create/modify partition:

*

Then develop 2 partitions:

Create a little (100m) initially major partition for grub. Set the bootable flag. Write alters.Create an extensive (logical) partition for the rest, and also install android on the 2nd. Grub will certainly go automatically to the first one. Write transforms.

Just adding my 2 cents, on what I think is happening:

Actually from a little of experimentation it"s not the presence of 2 partitions that enables Grub to continue it"s the "Create/Modify permissions" that you must gain right into first to create a GPT partition table before you can format the partition. (That"s why manual partitioning also functioned for Dr. Gianluigi Zane Zanettini in the comments of the initially accepted answer).

What actually seems to be happening is that if you don"t produce the partition table, when you involved the formatting stage wright here it asks you to format the partition (EXT4, EXT3, etc), the installer seems to say that it"s successful, once actually it hasn"t occurred bereason the GPT partition table does not exist. So as soon as it asks you to install grub it tries to install grub onto an unformatted partition ... and also fails silently.

If you go to "Create/Modify Partition" and also produce a "New" single partition (accept the defaults creating a single partition), "Write" "Quit"; and then go to format the partition after as the next action, Grub will obtain mounted and also the installation will continue as normal.

(Emphasis on the single simply to present that even a solitary partition will certainly work.)

NB: I haven"t controlled to obtain the GUI to run for Android x86 (android-x86-6.0_20160129.iso), but at leastern it seems to boot - interpretation it passes through the grub installation and also i get a shell prompt.
